Re: Reserving NPS campsites during prime season
I believe that most cancellations occur in the last week up to the reservation. If your schedule is flexible, you can try to catch one of those late cancellations. One tip I've heard to help you do this is to temporarily make your browser home page the CG reservation page so that you are reminded to check every time you open your browser. T@Bazona is a good example of this.
Re: Need a place to leave our 400 for two months in Carolinas, Georgia or Northern Florida.
Just a reminder that October is still hurricane season.
Re: Rear USB Ports Dead - Replaced
If I had to replace my USB ports that’s what I’d do. Another advantage is the cigarette style ports use power only when they’re being used.JEB said:I'm really not a fan of wall-mounted USB ports, for these and other reasons. If you are planning to replace the ports anyway, consider installing a 12V cigarette lighter socket instead. Generally more amps and more versatile. Use a USB adapter when you want to charge devices. Use the socket when you want to run other appliances like a 12V fan or hand-held vacuum. I replaced the dedicated USB ports on my old RV with a 12V cigarette socket and it was a tremendous improvement.
Re: Walker Tent/Awning for T@B 400 Experience
The Isabella distributor in Vancouver WA is Elwell Corp. Here's their website: http://elwellcorp.com/isabella
We met Ken Elwell at a recent RV show where he had the T@B tent/awning set up. We live 1-1/2 hours from their warehouse so were able to pick up and save shipping. Still pricey...more than the Walker at over $1800, but it's what we wanted. We do SOOOO much travel that it's worth it to us. When you travel with two golden retrievers, you can't put a price on comfort and space. It does not come with a floor, but we already have a carpet we use.
Rear USB Ports Dead - Replaced
We can't seem to get anything working in either of the two USB ports in rear driver side corner that we were using yesterday. Tried cell phones & a USB light, but the lamp in that corner works. Haven't checked fuses yet, as I think other stuff on the same fused circuit works. Front USB ports above sink work. No recent rain.
We have solar & ARB frig connected to battery. T@B frig is on propane & other background devices are working. Solar is mostly shade, fluctuating between 5-10W.
Any ideas?

Re: nüCamp revised — Purchasing from the Parts Department effective 1/1/2019
This makes a difference in my decision to purchase a trailer.
Was waffling between a trailer and a more stationary tiny house. Getting prompt service was a concern. Now I just don’t want to risk it with my nearest NuCamp dealer 3 hrs away.
Glad I read this before I bought.

Re: 400 fold down sink not draining well
After studying the drainage issue for awhile I have come to the conclusion that the issue stems from the fact that the sink on the (pre-2020) TAB 400 is poorly formed. The basin of any sink should slope towards the drain-regardless of the drain size. Unless there are restrictions in the drain pipe the water will drain. On my TAB the sink does NOT slope towards the drain. The low point appears to be several inches to the back (drivers side) of the drain. However, I discovered that if I apply slight downward pressure on the front (passenger side) of the sink the water will move to the drain. I have no idea how that slight downward pressure will affect the hinges in the future and it is annoying to have to coax the water out of the sink. It would be a good PR move for nuCamp to offer current owners some sort of discount for retrofitting the improved sink. Although I would wait to see if it truly is improved and not just different.
Re: Outdoor Shower
@4ncar, if one removes their outdoor shower hose before blowing out their water lines, wouldn't they be putting water inside the T@B? If I remember correctly, our outdoor shower hose connects on the inside wall of the plumbing/Alde compartment under the back seat. Maybe some connect on the outside?
Porch light shade
My blinding porch light needed a shade. I made one from corrugated plastic left over from yard signs. I made a pattern from a file folder. It’s fairly crude- held together with clear all-weather Duck tape. I used outdoor Velcro to attach it so that I can remove it while on the road.
