Checking the T@B’s wheel hub temp

Using the laser thermometer, I checked these temperatures on our last trip. The T@B tires registered 110-113F, ~10’ warmer than the 4runner’s. Do I just compare the results to the temperature at rest, or is there some acceptable range?

    Tire temperature will differ based on ambient air temperature, vehicle speed, inflation, etc.  Your reading sounds about right.  👍🏻

    Thanks @Michigan_Mike. We had the bearings repacked before we drove close to 5000 m. so I wanted to be sure everything was copacetic as we traveled. Of course I had no clue what I was looking for, but the trailer hubs were almost exactly equal with equal wear. At slightly over 11k miles and >4 years old, we’ll replace those puppies before the next long trip.

    Definitely something to stay on top of and periodically check for heating.  Nothing scarier than being 2K miles out from your home base and having a wheel bearing fail.  😱
