I just replaced the crank with if I remember a 1/2” bolt. Just pop off the top cover for access. I think it was a 6” bolt. I cut off the thread. Then I drilled a small hole in it to match the crank handle. If you are not good with tools. Ask a friend or neighbor. Good luck

  @BrianZ I think it is going to take some real world time to determine which I prefer. My guess is neither may be perfect in all conditions. Time will tell.

  I to have shortened my chains for convenience. Keep in mind if you do and need to tow your trailer with a different vehicle your chains may be to short.

  @BrianZ Check out 2 1/4” muffler clamps. I think you will like the look. Nice clean fit. I still have to paint mine. Love the tire cove. Where did you find it?

  The above pictured product is by far the best removable tongue jack product. IMHO much better than the Jack E Up.
