I just replaced the crank with if I remember a 1/2” bolt. Just pop off the top cover for access. I think it was a 6” bolt. I cut off the thread. Then I drilled a small hole in it to match the crank handle. If you are not good with tools. Ask a friend or neighbor. Good luck

  The green light is not really a light. It is a type of fiber optic that is transferring the light from the propane flame. So no flame no light.

  If your handle is threaded on you can get a replacement. If it is not the gate valve is easily replaced just four small nuts and bolts. And they are not very expensive. There are 2 different brands. …
