I just replaced the crank with if I remember a 1/2” bolt. Just pop off the top cover for access. I think it was a 6” bolt. I cut off the thread. Then I drilled a small hole in it to match the crank handle. If you are not good with tools. Ask a friend or neighbor. Good luck

  Rv Goop is excellent stuff sets up fairly fast about an hour although the longer the better. It is not a contact adhesive and parts need to be held together. Consider tape or some sort weight.

  @BrianZ Round hole, square file, elbow grease. The carriage bolt fits in the square hole. I also like to file the carriage bolt head flat that way the plate lays flatter. You can also use an 3/8 elev…
