I just replaced the crank with if I remember a 1/2” bolt. Just pop off the top cover for access. I think it was a 6” bolt. I cut off the thread. Then I drilled a small hole in it to match the crank handle. If you are not good with tools. Ask a friend or neighbor. Good luck

  @YanniLazarus I think the handle are mounted secure enough. We use to carry a roll of Astro turf on our front handles. It probably weighed about the same as the spare.
