Hanging straight down should work. if you use a rubber cap make sure the connector is pointing UP. Water will wick around the rubber cap if it is pointing down and collect around the contacts. (View Post)

I agree with most others here. Tow for awhile before you decide you need sway control. After spending money on a sway control system I realized I didn't need it at all. (View Post)

You should also check the max speed rating of your trailer tires. Some of them are pretty low. (View Post)
