Sounds like you were just "lucky"-- we've stopped a few times at Wal-Marts, but never had those issues. Something to do with the local culture? -

Check the floor on the inside. Any spongy areas? This looks like it may be related to the "soft floor" problem on a DM T@B-- is this in fact a Dutchmen version? -
