I repaired my door twice. The replacement cord quickly frayed and broke. The monofilament has lasted me 3 years and 30,000 miles of trailer travel, and is still going strong.2 -

Also try to avoid the side rail rivet fenders spinning and damaging the plastic rail during removal.1 -
