Gas mileage

Tow my T@B with a 2005 Jetta TDI wagon (PD or "BEW" diesel engine). Solo, from 46-49mpg; towing the T@B:
A) At highway speeds, 65-75 mph: 18mpg (OUCH!)
Keeping at or below 55-58 mph: 32mpg -much nicer!
Definitely a matter of the T@B being both wider and a LOT taller than the Jetta.

Another factor, though minor, is fuel manufacturers change blends for winter or summer and I suspect for different elevations as well.
