Just wanted to close the loop on this. I believe the sensor is faulty after all and that I misjudged the volume of water that was actually making its way into the tank. At the dealer now to address. Thanks for everyone pitching in with advice and insights. "User error" appears to be the conclusion :(
@ESH, I’m glad you are progressing to a solution. This is how all of us learn about our T@B’s. Most of us would be less than truthful if we said we didn’t make a “user error”. Good luck.

Belatedly; A mud wasp plugged the very end of my 400 fresh water tank drain, leading me to think tank was empty when it clearly was not. Yet another possible failure mode, could have applied to this thread.
