Brake controller install on Grand Cherokee

Traded up to a Grand Cherokee and installing a Prodigy controller. Anybody have a pic of where they had it installed? The easiest place is very low and moving it up worries me as I don't know what is in back that I would be screwing it too.

Don't know if your GC has a coin tray like my Cherokee, this is where I mounted mine

Clever, I tried to fit it in my equivalent tray but didn't fit. Ended up using velcro but I think it'll be temporary. I will probably try to create a flat surface and use VHB tape. The best areas have too high of risk damaging something behind the plastic/metal.

@MarkAl I had to cut an opening in the back of the tray for the controller to fit, and plug in to the factory installed harnesses.

You already made the investment into the wired version, but if it's returnable, you may want to look into the Prodigy RF. I went that route because I did not have a suitable location to mount a wired unit in my Volvo. The unit works very well, and its controller is as easy to reach and use as a traditional mounted wired unit.

I don't have the confidence in a wireless design (especially Bluetooth) for critical braking control.

I tow with 2018 Grand Cherokee, but use the Autowbrake, as suggested by DenverJaguar.  Dealer installed it on the 320. I went with that, because I did not know best place for a hardwired type.

I just looked at the Autowbrake. I have used the trailer brake only option on mine for sway once and was very thankful. Does this brake have the ability to manually set the brake without activation of the TV brakes?

I’ve been very happy with the Redarc Tow Pro Elite. The control knob can be installed wherever you have the room. In my case I was able to mount it in an unused switch blank in my Subaru.

I'm sold, now to sell my Prodigy. Nice features and east to mount. Good input. Thanks everyone.
