Stargazer shade mounting question - 2021 T@B400

Our 2021 T@B 400 stargazer shade had plastic top and sides and the sides kept popping out from the 2 black clips that were supposed to hold them in place. NuCamp supplied us a replacement stargazer shade built from aluminum but I don't know whether to mount the new shade with or without the black clips. Anyone know for sure?
