Cassette tank for gray water

Hi

I’m guessing others may do this, but what method or technique do folks use to fill their cassette toilet tank from the gray water outlet. We are out traveling and the showers at the campground we are at are very poor  and I was thinking of using the cassette tank as a portable gray water tank.  I have a small funnel with me and was just think of using the valve to slowly meter in the water via the hose.  But was seeing if there are other methods.

I ferry fresh and grey water at provincial parks to camper using 4.2 gallon square white lidded buckets.  Fit nicely in front platform boxes with gear in them.
5 gal round buckets jam the lid of the front boxes.

Had to buy four, gave away two.
