New mods to my T@B

Two mods this past weekend on my T@B.

I wasn't happy about storing my sewer hoses in the tongue tub, especially since at Tearstock after Austin (Marvin #2) thanked me for having a sewer hose in the tub that had not been used for black water. That got me thinking about the less than sanitary storage inside the tub. I installed a Valterra A04-0153XBK Black 64" EZ Hose Carrier on the passenger side of the tongue. I can fit a 5' and a 15' sewer hose in it. (The 10' extension hose goes in a large Ziplock in a 5 gallon bucket in the pickup bed. It comes with two built-in plastic clamps with a screw hole at each end. But, it's really intended for the frame of a larger RV/travel trailer, so I couldn't put a screw on both ends of the clamp. I was able to drill the hole for the top screws. I'll be adding 2 metal straps to make sure the hose carrier stays in place. And, regardless of the reviews on Amazon, the Rhino Flex sewer hoses do fit in it easily.

The 2nd mod is replacing the stock safety chains with Reese Towpower 7007500 Safety Cables. My safety chains were barely long enough, so these longer cables are definitely much better and safer. They are self coiling, so they don't fall on the ground, invariably in a mud puddle ;). According to the package, they're good for 5,000 lbs. The most fun part about it was that I was able to actually cut the old cables off of the tongue!  24" cable cutters and a lot of umph! Thanks to my brother for loaning the cable cutters to me.

You go girl.  Good job.  BTW, a little birdie told me at Tearstock that Austin is taking over Marvin's job in the near future.  Don't know what Marvin will be doing, but in any case, it's in good hands.

Thanks Verna, for pointing the way with the black water hose storage tube.

I wanted the hose out of the propane box to make room for 'other stuff'.

Mounted it on the back, behind the spare tire. Screwed through into the flooring.

BTW, the tube is on sale right now at Camping World, online and in stores, for around $36.

Man that tire sits low - Since mine was never mounted there I don't recall having seen one there before.

You're very welcome, ChanW. After realizing that other people didn't want to "mess" with my sewer hoses, it became a necessity to move the hoses elsewhere.

Your mod looks good.  I didn't want to drill through the floor, so the tongue was my choice.

Kinda curious - If ones sewer hose is in the propane cover, who or why would someone have to mess with it? Can't recall anyone ever needing to get in there.

Yeah, it might be low, or it might be that I haven't mowed the grass in a while....

I had my tub replaced with a diamond plate tub. Plus I need a welder to do some welding in my diamond plate tub.

But, if it doesn't bother you, that's fine, PXLated. To each their own, seriously.

Either place, I'm going to have to handle it, was just curious why others would :-)
