Removal of backrest, temporarily, in 320 to deal with leak

I need better access to the driver’s side rear compartment and need to remove the backrest of my 2018 320. Searched for a discussion of this in the forum but found nothing. There must be a way to manipulate the unique hardware that allows for a couple of angles to completely release. Please advise.

What area are you trying to get to? The hinges have to be disconnected to remove the backrest. Here are general threads about how owners have done this.

I removed both articulating cushions when optimizing the back area for storage. Simply remove the screws securing the hardware to the 2x4 seat-frame supports and remove the cushions.2021 320S BD

Thank you! After a closer look I see that removing the screws is necessary. Thought the hinge mechanism would decouple, but that’s clearly not useful.Trying to clean up a winter long leak and see where it’s coming from.

I had a leak in my 2019 320s also. Most people along with nuCamp point to the taillights. Eventually found mine after removing the aluminum strip covering the joint between the roof and the rear plastic panel on the outside of the trailer.2019 T@B 320S -
Found mine along the aluminum channel that connects the roof to the wall. Just behind the AC unit on the passenger side. It was under, and therefore hard to see, all the plastic trim. Hopefully my caulking will hold for a while
