Outdoor sensor

We have a T@B 400 which does not have an outdoor temperature sensor. Has anyone installed the Alde outdoor sensor Art. no: 3010299 and can describe how and where it was installed on the exterior of the camper?

this is the video from Alde https://youtu.be/l6pNbM_3C7g it looks like they attached it on the underside of the trailer to the frame. I’m guessing any shady spot away from heat sources would work. If I were going to install it on my 320s I would run to under my license plate if the cable will reach.

I installed it under my trailer by the vent that I have which provides air into my battery compartment. Placing it there allowed for an easy way to run the cable over to the Alde control board.  Works great.

Thanks to you both. I agree with the comment below the video that double sided tape may not be the best way to fasten the sensor, and the video didn't mention how the sensor cable is to be routed to the inside Alde compartment. Once I get the sensor from Truma Corp. I'll have to figure a way for fastening and routing.

Or buy an indoor/outdoor thermometer set. That way you can place your outdoor sensor wherever it will best avoid sunlight and maintain accuracy. The sensor does not have to be attached to the trailer.

Hi @Binghi, thanks for that suggestion. It is one solution to knowing just what the outdoor temperature is at wake-up time. I have already bought Truma's outdoor sensor so I'll proceed with its installation once I receive it. According to the narrator in the video @TourDeForth attached above, the outdoor sensor not only shows outside temperature, it also adds the opportunity to set an outside temperature at the panel at which the Alde heating system will activate in order to maintain the indoor temperature set at the panel, thus eliminating temperature drops inside before the Alde kicks on. This will be interesting to watch on chilly nights I'm sure we'll experience on upcoming trips.

I wouldn't bother with the Alde. It's really not necessary. Once the Alde thermostat is calibrated +/- and set for your comfort level it has no problem maintaining the inside temp. You can get an Acurite brand indoor/outdoor for cheap and it also gives you the outside high/low for the past 24 hours. You can even get inside/outside humidity. We have our sensor stuck with velcro on the outside next to the door. You can place the wireless sensor anywhere in the shade. you can even set it in the fridge to monitor fridge temp if you're worried about the fridge temp. If you loose a sensor you can grab another sensor cheap at Walmart (ask me how I know).
