I've never really liked the metal pads on the stabilizing jacks because of the way they shift around, especially if you are on an asphalt pad, but also on hard, rocky soil. I also don't always want to position blocks under the pads. They make rubber feet that you can put on the metal pads but they run about $100 for a set of 4 and I'm too cheap for that. I found a heavy rubber stair tread for $7 at the local big box hardware store and decided to give them a try. I cut squares to match the pads and glued them on using Lexel, a heavy duty elastic sealant/adhesive that I had on hand. I did not use any other attachment method so I don't yet know if these will hold up over prolonged use, but they seem very solid right now.
Hopefully the rubber pads will be just flexible enough to provide some grip and cushioning on hard surfaces to stop that annoying jiggling that seems to happen in the middle of the night after you've spent some time moving around in the trailer.
