Stove top issue

We've been on a fairly long trip, and after one of the days, I opened the stove lid to see that the burner plate on one burner had come apart, and the other burner plate was loose. After searching, I found two screws in the top drawer under the stove. I could see that one screw was still holding the other burner plate on, but one was missing. I removed the stove top from the counter and turned it over to remove the metal cover plate so I could put the burner plate back on, and the other screw that was missing rolled out. I put a little blue loctite on the screws so they wouldn't back out again.
The other issue I found was that there was some corrosion on the bottom cover plate below the igniter, and some gunk around the connector for the igniter. I unscrewed the igniter button, and the AAA battery was completely corroded over. Might be another maintenance item to remove/replace the battery after each season. I prefer to use a hand lighter anyways, so I likely won't replace the igniter.

Interesting. I didn't realize there was a battery on the igniter. Can we access this without removing the cook top?

Yes the push button unscrews, and then you pull the AAA battery out.2021 T@B 400 BDL aka Little Joe

Hi @cottonmouth. What model and year is your trailer? Is this a Dometic 2 burner stove?2014 T@B 320 S "Sunny" - 2015 Toyota Sienna LE - British Columbia, Canada

It's a 2021 400bdl. Here are a couple of images to better explain what happened:
Here's the stovetop in place. Simple two burner with igniter.
The igniter button simply unscrews to change the AAA battery.
Here's the burner plate that had vibrated loose and was banging around under the grates. (The other burner plate was also loose, but only 1 screw had fallen out, so it was still attached).
The plate screws in from underneath, so I had to remove the stovetop from the counter (two screws on either side, and push up from underneath after removing the top drawer). Disconnect from gas line in back left corner.
Dumbo to the rescue.

@cottonmouth, thanks for the post. Just ran out and removed battery from ignitor as we never use the interior stove, preferring outdoor camp stove.

Had the same issue with the burners coming apart. 2022 400 Boondock. After putting it back together 4 times dometic sent a replacement. 2 months later it happened with new one. The lock tight was not enough to hold up to the bad northern Minnesota roads and lots of off-roading. Finally decided to create 2 pieces of foam that fit snuggly between the burner and glass top. This has held up for the last 2 1/2 years. Hope this helps.
