Posted in another group but probably more appropriate here. I’m guessing others have done similar? Would love to see other ideas and improvements.
I decided to upgrade our 2025 Tab 400 to a 400ah lithium setup with 3000W inverter, system monitoring, and integrated tank level sensors.
This is similar to the full Battleborn package from factory but with upgraded monitoring capabilities.
- Four 100AH batteries (matched existing Battleborn - $1K per 100ah- NOT THE CHEAPEST OPTION!!!)
- Victron Multiplus ii 3000VA inverter/charger ($845)
- Victron Cerbo GX central monitoring ($230)
- 5” touch screen monitor (Victron GX Touch 50 - $200)
- SeeLevel tank sensors for fresh/gray/black (VanLife kit - $480)
- Existing Victron solar charger and 400W solar panels
- Existing Victron 500A battery shunt
- Upgraded DC wiring, fuses, and terminal blocks (~$200)
- Temperature monitoring of batteries and compartment ($40)
The new system allows us to run AC for a few hours without shore power. More importantly for me is extra boondock capacity, all AC outlets available without shore power, more convenient monitoring, and power assist (helps AC when connected to wimpy shore power / generator).
I am a little worried about summer heat in that tight electrical bay. May add some DC fans.
