Adding door way handle

I’m wanting to add an exterior entry grab handle for my 2007 T@B. Is the door jam strong enough to provide sufficient support. I was thinking an interior plate with bolts would be ok. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks John.

Not sure if we have anything going back quite that far, but there have been threads describing grab handles near the location you are mentioning.
