question on Barefoot

I don’t believe that it is. I’d be curious to see what sales were on these. Cool concept but the price was $$$

Yes, definitely still being manufactured . Was at the NuCamp factory twice since September . 
They are being manufactured in the NuCamp service center now , across the street from the NuCamp main factory . They pulled the Barefoot from the main manufacturing "line" and replaced it with the Haven . Since the Barefoot is a very low production build , they build them in a smaller scale over in the NuCamp service center for now . I saw several Barefoots in the "mid stages " of build /assembly  recently . About 4-6 sitting outside half completed .

Interesting. Since laying up fiberglas is a pretty specialized skill, it probably makes sense for them to lay up a few "hulls" at a time and hold them for when they have orders.

Yes, it looks like they dedicated a small space inside the service center side for barefoot lay up . Saw some molds and "boat building stuff" inside. They had 4-6 assembled "hulls" with the top and bottoms attached , and on frames but otherwise bare . 
Strangely , I did not smell any evidence of fiberglass manufacturing like you would have in traditional boat building factory , IYKYK . They must have a very limited production now.

I spoke with Karl Brockmeyer, the marketing director at NuCamp, and he provided some more detail on the Barefoot camper that might be helpful to this discussion.

As mentioned above, the Barefoot is not in regular production, due to limited demand. Initial interest was very high, but subsequent orders did not materialize. If someone wants a Barefoot, they can still be provided, as there are some on dealer lots here and there. But the best way to get one would be to contact Customer Experience at Nucamp and they will let you know your options. The model still has a niche following in the European market and is continuing to be made there. NuCamp retains the license for the North American market.

Dana at Missouri Teardrop had one on his lot that we took a look at and at first glance, it’s beautiful, but he was actually sending it back and refused to sell it because the production on it was horrible. There were pieces falling off, pieces missing and things misaligned. I don’t know if he ever got another one.
