GPS Tracker in case of Theft?

Has anyone used or installed this device for GPS tracking in case of theft? $255.00, 5-year battery life, 3-year tracking service with no monthly fees. Maybe I am missing something, but it seems like a good idea. Does anyone own one of these, or is there a better option?

No, but I have used a GPS tracker from LoneStarTracking.com for several years. If my camper moves after sitting for five minutes I get a text and have a map to track it.

I haven't heard of that particular company. I used one from LandAirSea and it was approx. $20 a month for the service (varying plans available) that used. The battery would last about 4 months or so when idle. The site you linked to seems a little bit "too good to be true" and the fact that they want you to call them makes me a bit squeamish. Of course, it may be the best thing ever, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Whatever you do end up choosing, please post back and let us know what you get and your opinion of it.  Happy Trails!!

@mx4789 I think the "call us" is ai ed at fleet sales. I also think they are aimed at dump trailers. I did take one for the team I'll report my findings after using it

I did purchase and use this tracker for the first four years of owning my Tab400.  It worked great except for three things:
1 - You need to set a fairly wide geofence as the satellite pings are not always in close proximity to your rig.  During my first year of storage, the battery on the unit went dead because of this.  I had to send the unit in for a replacement battery.
2 - I should have received alerts that my trailer was outside the set geofence, but I did not receive any even though my contact info was in place.  I could have widened my fence to avoid the battery being drained.
3- The replacement battery only lasted two years.  And you must send the unit back to the vendor for a replacement, at least that was the case two years ago.

Thus, I replaced this unit with an android Smarttag.  Downside is that Smarttags rely on nearby cell phones to pick up their location, while the tracker in question relies on satellites.  I am okay with this as I figure chances are pretty good that there will enough cell phones nearby given that  pretty much everyone carries one.
