How do I gauge how long will a 20 lb can of propane last to heat a 2021 tab 400 while boondocking

If you don't mind buying an app for that, download Tank Check by Mopeka.

@Gkopan There are a lot of variables to consider, so it will be hard to judge until you actually start using the Alde. Also consider if you will use the stove burners. Biggest unknow is how low he temps will be while camping. Having said that, many folks use a propane monitor to judge the rate of usage.

i tried the Mopeka and could not get it to work well but others like it. We don't go out for enough days for it to matter for us.

What about 1 bodies three consecutive nights @30°F for 5 consecutive nighthours, with heat set @ 65°? Would a full 20# tank do it?

Yes. We just got off an 18 day trip w various lows, but down to 29. Thermostat set at 65 or 66. We cooked inside because of the wind. Sometimes we had shore power but often ran on propane. Started at full and now the Mopeka says 58%.  There are a lot of BTUs in a 20 lb tank and the Alde is quite efficient. Ours is a 320 so there will be a difference there.

I really like the Mopeka. Ease of mind knowing what the tank level is.

There is a "Travels With Delaney" video that describes the Alde propane use pretty closely.  If you read the manual down in the fine print they do explain how much propane the Alde uses.  Somewhere...there is a thread breaking it down here in this group, but I'll have to keep digging to find it.

Yes, you should be fine with gas for that duration.
The basic Mopeka Tank Check device and app are great. ***Just remember to take the dang sensor and little feet off before you put the empty tank into the self serve vending machine!!!***
Don't ask me how I know.
