400 window struts not holding open

Have a 2025 400 boondock black canyon.

The window struts don’t work very well holding the window open , the large rear window is the worst .

Looks to be a simple design, friction knob on a tube .
Any repair info would help .

have same year, same problem but front window is also problematic.

I have the same issue and at some point might try replacing one side with a gas strut. It may make the window unbalanced or it could be the fix.

As @MOS2 noted the window strut arms are a very simple design.

The Knob Screw impacts the arm tube (like a set screw) to hold the window at a set angle. There are no real 'user repair' options, while there maybe are several hacks to try.

For the original issue of Not Holding the Window Open:

1. Remove the Knob, inspect inside of knob to ensure nothing is blocking it from fully seating.
2. Inspect the metal insert in the Lock Body for blockage.
3. Inspect the inner tube for the Knob Screw 'bite marks' is it engaging.
4. Consider ways to make the Knob Screw hold/pressure on the inner tube tighter:
   1. would plumbers tape on screw help
   2. would placing a small bearing (BB ?) help; small contact surface = more pressure, and if knob is not screwing down enough could provide more clearance {at cost of fewer insert threads engaging}
   3. Some other way to increase the knob screw force on the inner tube. Sharpen the screw tip?

I have inspected the knob and understand the design . I have yet to clean the inner tube . The little black points on the knob seems to be ok🤷‍♂️

That rear window is large and wonder if it is too heavy for the friction strut to hold the window open
