An amusing story....
….though not so funny at the time!
Preparing my 2024 T@B 400 for a month long trip I noticed the fridge seemed rather noisy. Whenever it cycled on, it would buzz, sometimes quite loudly. Turning the fridge to a warmer setting stopped the noise temporarily until it once again cycled on.
I pulled the fridge forward but could see no dust or dirt or anything that might vibrate. It worked fine but it was impossible to sleep with the racket. My wife thought the noise actually came from the other side of the trailer while I thought it came from the bed side of the fridge. We were both right.
By chance I noticed the Jensen radio was tuned to an AM channel that had no signal and the volume was set quite high - not enough to produce any sound until the fridge came on. I turned off the radio and Lo! The noise was gone. Clearly either the fan or the compressor was providing its own static. Given a speaker on each side of the camper the sound was in static stereo!
My sense of stupidity was relieved only by the ensuing peace and quiet. I hope this might help someone else solve a noise problem.
