Air8 not working in our 2022 T@B 320
We're brand new owners and have been trying to learn the system of systems that our 2022 T@B 320 represents.
I had the 320 plugged into shore power (an extension cord from our garage and a dogbone connector) at 1kw. Turned on the AC to cool the camper and see how well it worked. Had it on for about fifteen minutes, give or take, and went outside, then came back and it was off. The screen was dark.
I gave up on it that day because there were other more pressing issues. We're really not going to need AC for a few months.
I came back to it and plugged it in to the same set up, but the control unit was still dark and useless. So I checked all the fuses, turned breakers on and off, etc. No joy.
Anyone have any ideas? Seems like a fuse or breaker would be the root of the issue, but I can't find it.

I assume the above means the Alde Cabin Heat/HW system was set to 1kW.
In general a household 15/20A outlet circuit can only power the Alde at 1kW or the A/C not both.
Suggest you consider:- confirm your house/garage 120V Circuit Breaker did not trip, or reset as needed.
- disconnect all power from TAB; Shore Power and set battery cut-off to off. Wait 5 minutes so the A/C 'computer' can reset.
- Re-connect power. Only activate the Air8 A/C unit, everything else off.
- If Air8 still won't power-up; confirm Air8 120V power cord is plugged in and all the Power Center CB are on.
Let us know what is happening . . .
Side Note: When you purchased the TAB did you observe the A/C was working?

Hi,
The Air 8 has its own dedicated breaker (not a fuse) inside the WFCO power converter/distribution center. Check to see if it tripped or even maybe the breaker is bad.
Do you have AC power to other items? Also check the main 30 amp breaker in the WFCO.

Thanks for the response. There is AC for other stuff, best of my ability to tell. We don't have a microwave.
The Alde was set to 1kw because I was under the impression that's what you were supposed to do when plugged in to shore power.
I turned off the battery power switch in the tongue box and my wife and I went for a walk. When we came back, forty-five minutes later, I got out the dog bone and the extension cord (power to the outlet is fine) and plugged into the camper.
Then I turned the power back on (I had also turned it off at the Alde control panel) and put it back at 1kw and the Air8 screen is dark. I tried all of the breakers again—one at a time flipped each of them in the WFCO panel—and still the Air8 control panel is dark.
Re-connect power. Only activate the Air8 A/C unit, everything else off.
This part is a little less than transparent for me. @MuttonChops do you mean put the power to off on the Alde control panel instead of at 1kw?
I really appreciate the insight. We're not really going to need the AC but I'd really like to have the blower and dehumidification.

Hi,
As another suggestion, plug any 120V item you have into the same plug as the Air 8 to confirm that the Air 8 outlet has power (just to eliminate or confirm the outlet as the issue).
The Alde and Air 8 have completely standalone control panels and outlets. There is no interaction between the two.

Yes set Alde to 0kW or even better do not power on the Alde at all. Leave it's Control Panel Off, dark.
You are troubleshooting and need to be sure only the A/C Unit is attempting to power-up from the 120VAC shore power.'18 320 S, pitched axle, 3020HE; PNW based

One last guess… is it possible it's plugged into a GFCI outlet that has tripped?

@Steve_S Any update to share on your Air8 issue . . . fixed?
Re-reading your original post you indicate the Adle at 1kW and the Air8 were both on when you started your walk . . . then Air8 was off on your return . . . and has remained so.
An overload of your Garage outlet is still the most likely source, as for why the Air8 shut-off instead of a circuit breaker tripping could be various not common but possible reasons. I encourage you to start over and focus only on confirming the Air8 is or is not still functional.
For reference if all the 120VAC items in the trailer are on or the right combination of them are demanding extra power it is very easy to overall a standard 20A circuit.
The above has a worse case load of 20 -23 Amps without the Air8 startup demand.
Consider these steps:
- Confirm House outlet is functional with a light/fan/etc
- Connect TAB, confirm Air8 outlet is functional with that light/fan/etc
- Now toggle off the Power Center circuit breakers one-by-one and isolate which one controls the Air8 outlet.
- Set all circuit breakers to off except for the Main and Air8 one.
- Now you know for 100% the Air8 will be the only load. Plug in Air8, will Control Panel Power on?
The Air8 Electrical Power source is very simple as only the 120VAC is required. If the Control Panel won't turn-on one of these things has most likely happened.
- Control Pad Failure, would be very bad timing
- Air8 Control Board (inside Air8) has failed or been damaged by whatever 'power event' happened while on your walk.
Reference Figure:
There is limited TAB Community troubleshooting knowledge on the Air8 PCB (Control Board). If you are somewhat into electrical hobbies it might be possible to measure or check for voltages on the PCB but you are limited to what your eyes & brain can detect . . . no schematics, diagrams or guides are known to be available.
