400 Owners, what did you do with the spare tire?

Just wondering what everyone is doing with the spare tire.  Did you leave it mounted under the tongue?  Currently have ours under the bed to balance some of the tongue weight.  wonder about the ground clearance mounted under the tongue.  Have a dip in the road entering our shop so might be a problem.  Flipped my 2 inch drop hitch will see if that changes much.  Was riding a little low in the front.

We flipped the ball too, but left the spare in the front. The T&B is fairly level with a 2017 Honda Ridgeline.

We kept our tire in the tongue mounted area. We also flipped our 2" drop hitch and have not had a problem with clearance since. The jack clearance is what your closest point to hitting would be if I'm thinking right cause when you dip down then start up, the point closest to you hitch will see the lowest clearance so your tire for a dip should not ever be an issue

We kept our tire at the original tongue mounted position too. I thought about putting it in the back of the truck but have found the weight and balance makes for a very stable tow. I also don't want to sacrifice the bed area of the truck.  We have over 6000 towed miles and I only know of one time when I thought it was going to bottom out but it did not.  The tongue height is at a level or slightly uphill position when everything is loaded.  It has worked great so I am not inclined to change anything.

I decided to remove from under the bed and mount under the tongue.  I have a 2 inch drop hitch and I flipped it over.  like it better now .  we have the 2 WD  2016 crew cab Frontier.  Handel's OK!
