Excessive Heat from Norcold 3 way fridge

Perhaps there are already posts on this, but I didnt have much luck in my search.  I have a 2015 SMax and this is my 3rd camp season, but this weekend was the first time I have used the fridge (on propane) without also being able to run the air conditioning.  The heat coming from the fridge was noticably more excessive without the air conditioner (obviously) but this is going to be a significant problem for me on warmer days when I dont have A/C.    It was a cool weekend and nights were below 60 but I still had to turn on the ceiling fan in reverse to keep the camper cool enough to be comfortable.  It was so bad that it couldnt even keep food on the counter.  It turned some bread products rock hard on the bottom.  This was a very frustrating experience.  Is it possible that a heat vent has become detached in the back or something?

@robyn769 just wondering if you had or have installed the auxiliary fan inside the fridge compartment? We had to get one installed on our 2015 T@B.

I didn't know about the auxiliary fan. That is exactly what I need. I see some links above from Verna, so perhaps that is information on the fan.

Ok, so I read the other threads, but I'm not quite understanding the auxiliary fan.  I know I hear something cut on and run most of the time, but this seems like an additional auxiliary fan that you had installed?  Where do I get this fan?  Is it a product that goes specifically with the Norcold, or just a add on item from another company?  This sounds like a pretty significant mod, so I guess it will have to go to the dealership which is about 80 miles from me.

Contact Elsie at X304 in the Parts department at nüCamp 844.823.9112. They supply the fan, but you pay the labor for installation or you can DIY. You can find her number in the nüCamp Contacts category listed in the Category column to the left. I see you found it, but here you go anyway! Good luck! Just so you know, we turn the fan off at night in chill camping conditions and the warmth is appreciated!

Awesome!! Thanks!!!  I had not found where to get the fan I meant I just found a post that said to call Little Guy (but I knew that was old info), but then I had to post on that other thread where do I call, so Im glad you posted this information.  I was thinking too that as fall comes the heat will be good, but I'm already thinking ahead for next season! haha

@robyn769 just a thought. There's a thread at the top of the general discussion about the expanded recall related to the Norcold 3 way fridge. It has to do with the gas line resting against the fins of the fridge, a potential risk. Please be sure to read it and check your T@B for the problem if you haven't already done so. Maybe the prior owner already took care of it, but if there IS a problem, you could have it fixed at the dealer at the same time as the aux fan is installed.

Haha.  A better name for what I do is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and not just a good planner! haha  Thanks for mentioning the recall. I did already have that problem repaired in April.

I called NuCamp and the parts will arrive on Thursday!  $18 plus shipping.  Wow, the forum is awesome. Have a problem in the morning, solved by the afternoon!....so many times now!
