Sidewall tire date

Where exactly is it located on the sidewall?

The below figure shows a typical Manufacture Date Code location.

Do not believe the location is regulated to the exact location, as I recall on my tires it is toward the lower right of the Tire Size marking instead of the lower left as shown in figure.  Have also read articles stating it is on the inside side wall, not the outside side wall as shown in the figure . .  . however all date codes I've seen are on the outside side wall.
