My Table Solution and More

Hello, T@B Nation,
I would like to share some of the things I have done to the AbracaT@Bra.
I broke the table the day I brought the AbracaT@Bra home. Like everyone else, we hated that table so ordered slats so I could make the king size bed. And I decided to use ottomans as coffee tables. The cool thing about the ottomans is that they have storage and they also serve as dining trays. So, they are perfect solution for us.
I also found a great little coffee pot and utensils for the kitchen. For the hanging the utensils and the keys for the T@B, I used command strips which several folks on here suggested.
Finally, because one our dogs hates slippery floors, we added some cool, high traffic carpet tiles.
We are super happy because everything is coming together! Our first real trip is coming up May 2nd!

Rut roh. Do I need rails? I haven't received the slats yet so I didn't know exactly how they work. I'll update you once I see what's what!

As I hear of the guys and gals complaining about how awkward the factory table is, I've already decided I don't want to mess with the factory table. I found the parts at Camping World this afternoon for a removable table. I'll have to play with the size of the tabletop. I'll have to make the table top, some rails and slats, but that's no problem for ye ole woodworker, me ;-)Verna, Columbus, IN

Judymac based on your question, we started thinking about alternative solutions to the slats. I tried using the ottomans with the tops on, but they were too high (each ottoman can support up to 250 pounds). We tried a few other things that didn't work either. Then, I got the idea to unscrew the original table from the base and put that base on top of the ottmans and that solution worked perfectly (see photos below). The ottomans with the tops ended up the exact right height! So, I don't even need the slats now. Your innocent question lead to a new solution that we completely love! Thanks.

Where did you purchase the ottomans?2018 Outback S, Silver/Black - 2015 Silver Honda Pilot 4WD - Florence, KY

I purchased the ottomans from QVC.com for $35 for the set.

Very interesting concept.
I have complained about the table only because my husband just doesn't have enough leg room. It is a very nice table but too heavy to move in/out. We are working on a solution.

Patti - Seems some do but I found it too heavy/awkward to move.
