Alde Expansion Tank

Where is the Alde Expansion Tank located? I'm getting into the installation and plumbing of the Alde in my 2017 T@B and can't locate the expansion tank (Figures 2 and 7 of the manual). I would have thought it would have been near the boiler/HW tank but I can't seem to locate it.

Thanks

It depends on the T@B model - On mine (Max-S) it's under the back shelf. On others it's up front. What model T@B you investigating?

Its the 2017 T@B Max S. I'm not sure what you mean by under the back shelf. Is it exposed or behind something?

    Thanks

Do you have the movable shelf with a 120v outlet on the left and a charging center on the right? If yes, it is under the charging outlet.

Do you have to remove anything to get to it or is it visible?

Sorry but I'm just not finding it. Do you suppose anything changed between 2016 and 2017. We picked up the trailer from the factory on 5/17.

If yours looks like this, slide the triangular panel towards the front of the trailer.

    Thanks, that's where it was.

When I checked the fluid  level it was at the Max line when cold. The manual says it should be about 1/2" above the Min line when cold. The service department where I bought the RV at says that is OK because if it does overflow, it will go thru the  overflow tube to the outside.

    Does that sound right?

Correct. Any excess will drain onto the ground behind the driver side tire.  Please note many of us have experienced a gurgling noise if the level goes at or below the minimum line.

Does anyone know where the expansion tank is on a 2016 T@B Q Max?  The rear of my trailer is not like the above pictures.  I just have a headboard shelf that runs from wall to wall.  I'm assuming it is under there.

Followup would be, how do you gain access to what's under the headboard shelf?

    Thanks

I have a 2017 Q and my tank is like the picture of the 320 above
Its next to the headboard shelf on the drivers side and held with two screws

There should be a square drive screw, or two, holding the shelf in place. Remove the screw(s) and look in the driver’s side rear corner for the expansion tank. Use a Sharpie to highlight the markings on the tank, and use a small mirror to be able to see the glycol level.

Replace the shelf when done, and replace the screw(s).

@sranderle Not to be insulting, are you sure there aren’t 2 small screws in the driver’s side wall end of that headboard shelf?

Nope, no woodworking at the end of the headboard on the wall.  Just wall between the headboard and the overhead cabinets.

I'll take a look at the screws holding the headboard shelf on, and see what I find.

    Thanks

Yes, as Verna suggested, try removing the headboard shelf and look under and to the right.
I'm not sure when they added the storage cubbies on the rear deck, but it doesn't sound like yours has them. On the cubbieless T@Bs you just pop up the rear shelf to access the reservoir.
