Has anyone used an LP powered generator? The benefits sound good--no gas smell, propane keeps almost forever while gas has to be replaced often, no gummed up carborator, no spills and no storage worries. Prices are about the same. So, what's the downside?
I'm using solar (zamp 120) but wanted something as a back up.2015 CS. Ford f150 v8. Southern california

Do you have any idea how the fuel consumption compares LP vs gasoline? That may be a deciding factor.Scott, Orange Park, Florida...2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara... 2015 T@B S Maxx "Buttercup".

This from the marketing info on a 1350/2000 watt propane generator available at Home Depot: "Run time equal to 12 hrs at 50% load per 20 lbs of LPG fuel". 65db sound level.
Honda EU2000i apparently can also be had to run propane. 53db to 59db sound level. 1600/2000 watt rating. Claims 19 hrs at 1200 watt load.
Honda claims up to 3.4 to 8.1 hrs per gallon of gasoline on the EU200i.
