Mattress ideas for 2020 TAB 400 boondocks

I'm buying my new tab as we speak. I'm wondering what kinds of ideas folks might have for a mattress to supplement the cushions they must think is a bed. Thanks in advance for any ideas coming my way. Greg Coverdale

  • Try the bed before you invest in another mattress.  Although many people do add a pad to the top of the cushions, I have found that the cushions coupled with the Froli system is actually very comfortable.
  • will do, thanks

The mattress with the Froli system is good.

We put a memory foam topper on our bed after trying it out.  And I will say both me and my wife sleep fantastic!

The bed is not bad for a camper but i found it a bit hard and my back was a stiff by the third night. I have ordered a Zinus 1.5 Inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen from Amazon but have not used it yet.

We have a memory foam topper on ours (Costco IIRC). You will need to do some carving on whatever you get, but not too hard to do.

  • We put a 3 inch (maybe 2.5?) topper we got at Costco on the bed cushions, and it sleeps great.  Surprisingly comfortable.

I put a self-inflating double sized 3” Camp Futon from LL Bean under a 2” down alternative mattress pad and it is extremely comfortable. It’s been in place for almost 18 months and still works well.

  • My wife and I have found the froli system and factory mattress to be very comfortable surprisingly and have no plans to put a topper on currently.  I am usually very picky about mattresses and am a light sleeper and have had no issues being comfortable.

We're very happy with the original mattresses atop the Froli system. Personally, I sleep better and find it more comfortable than our (admittedly tired) mattress at home. My only gripe is that because it is only accessible from one side, and because it is comprised of three cushions in order to provide inside access to the under bed storage, it is a royal pain in the neck (and lower regions...) to make up, and getting the fitted sheet on is an exercise in pure frustration!

  • I went to Walmart and bought a Queen 4-inch topper and then cut it down to size to place over the existing mats.  Absolutely love it. It’s almost as comfortable as my sleep number bed at home.
  • I'll take your advise. Thanks!
