How to remove/replace Alde glycol drain plug?

A question for those who have replaced your Alde’s glycol. My T@B is late 2016 and the drain plug is brass, held in place by some sort of black clamp - see photo. How do I remove the clamp, and equally importantly, how do I replace it?

I think there may be special pliers for those clamps, common on autos. However you can use any pliers if you are careful. These things will take flight if they get away! Best to squeeze with pliers and move UP one hose off the clamping area on the plug. Leave it up there and then pull the plug

Thanks, I did finally manage to get the clamp off, glycol drained, and plug and clamp back on. Just pinched my fingers once. Purpose designed pliers would probably help.

Hi @Photomom, I came across your post trying to find the drain plug for the Alde system and noticed you have the same year Tab as we do. Do you mind telling me where to find it / how to get to it?

Look under the drivers side, behind the tire. Unless you have a CS-S, not sure where the Alde drain is on that.
