Exterior solar port installation

I would like to add an exterior solar port for my suitcase solar panel on my 400. I Purchased this SAE mount. I plan to install it just in front of the storage bay door. I’m curious if anyone here would have any recommendations on how to install this? Would you make a hole just wide enough for the inner diameter to fit through? - see photos. Would you use butyl tape to seal it? any other recommendations?

    Drill just large enough for the inner diameter so you have room for the two screws to take a bite. Be generous, but neat, with sealant. Butyl tape is neater than using the caulk and you should be able to cut away any excess. Wear rubber gloves.

    I am interested in the same mounting procedure.  I saw some pictures somewhere, but can’t seem to find them again. We have been researching suitcase solar for our T@B 400. I saw some pictures about connecting to the wiring for the cutoff switch just inside of the storage box door... Can someone help... Thanks...

    I used marine through hull sealant all around the socket and under the flange. I also screwed it on. I drilled the hole to the left of the heater access door outside. In my 400 it is fairly close to my added controller and batteries under the bed.
