Made this hidden shelf on request from my wife for a jewelry storage location. It is located under the tv shelf, pulls down, then hides up and under the shelf when put back. Built a basic box and found some lid support hinges for the sides.

That’s pretty cool!  Wondering how it will hold up under road conditions,  bouncing, etc.   I think I would probably place all items in a ziplock bag the first go around as I’ve had some interesting items on the floor after a long journey.

Thanks for sharing as it looks great!

Two rare earth magnets inset into the shelf with two flat head screws with washers screwed into the bottom of the white shelf would hold the small shelf in place during travel.

Great advice, the hinges are very stiff though, the friction of them will probably keep it in place but we will try it with caution.

I love this!! Just last night I was searching for a few hours looking for something to mount underneath this area. Couldn't find anything. I'll have to show this to my hubby! Also, the trim on the top is a great idea. How did you fasten it?

Very nice! Would you be so kind to share a link for the hinges?
