Just bought a 2005 T@B with inside kitchen. First trip out of the way and wife and I still get along! Went up to Woods Lake, off Carson Pass at 8200 ft. Have some bugs to work out but overall a good time!

    I just googled Woods Lake, wow!  It is now on my list. 

    Did you take any pics and what is your impression of the campground?

    Hi Rad. Woods Lake has only 15 sites and most are quite small (too short for TV and T@B). We went up on a Sunday PM and most sites were empty by 2 PM so we got a choice of the 3 long ones.  Nice campground; they didn't have their water tested yet so the hosts furnished bottled water for drinking and/or dishes. Should have that issue taken care of by this weekend.

    This brings back memories.  My husband and I used to backpack in the Tahoe National Forest and the pictures are just like this.  We backpacked at Poppy Campground and Upper Hell Hole (don't laugh at the name as it was appropriate). Both of these were hike in/boat in campgrounds with port-o-potties, picnic tables, and fire rings.  But the best part was the isolation.  We saw a grizzly bear swim across the lake at Upper Hell hole and had our snacks eaten by critters at Poppy. We fished and were pretty much there all by ourselves.  This is definitely on our list and why we want to purchase a T@B to get back to that type of camping in luxury.
