Campground Recommendations Phoenix/Mesa Area?

We are picking up our new 320 CS-S camper at Tom's Camperland in Mesa, AZ in early October and want to give the camper a trial run before making the trek back home.
Any recommendations on RV sites in the Phoenix/Mesa area (electric hookup preferred). Thanks!

It's a little further away but in beautiful area...Roper Lake State Park...we did a day trip from there to Phoenix before heading to T@bazona in January.

If you can get a site, go to Lost Dutchman SP. most of the sites there have electric/water. Probably one of the most picturesque camp grounds in Arizona and not too far from toms. If nothing is available, try for Usery park. Congratulations.

Usery Mountain Regional Park is just east of Mesa and was the site of T@Bazona in January. We liked it a lot.

Any of the regional parks around Phoenix will need reservations as fat in advance as possible. The closest state park to Tom’s is my favorite Lost Dutchman State Park and it is gorgeous. Reserve early.

Around Phoenix are regional Parks of White Mountain, Usery, Lake Pleasant, and I forget the names of the others!

Google the separate reservation systems for the Arizona State Parks and the separate one for the Maricopa County Regional Parks for reservations and parks.

We picked up our T@B from Tom's in January 2016 and headed north. Stayed at Dead Horse Ranch St. Park outside of Cottonwood. Had planned to visit Grand Canyon but monsoon rains resullted in 2 feet of snow on South Rim so we turned around and headed home through Las Vegas.
2 hour drive but we had the time.
