Operation of Jensen TV

Couple things that can be easily overlooked...trust me on this! 

Oh, and reconnect the HDMI that was installed. It's prewired to the back of the Jensen so it receives the audio signal when you're watching TV, and outputs audio/visual when playing a DVD. 

Make sure you have the correct Zone selected for the speakers. The Jensen has three different zones (A, B, and C). In my rig, they've tied all zones to Zone A. Which make sense because the rig is really not big enough to warrant 3 zones. Obviously make sure the volume is turned up sufficiently. And BTW, once you're up and running if you want to hear the TV better when dining at your "table by the window", just use the "Fade" control to Front speakers, and when you're snuggled up under the Stargazer window, Fade it to the Rear speakers. 

Turn on the Jensen and select "HDMI ARC", then turn on the TV and get your signal (cable, over the air). It may take a few seconds to connect but you should get audio thru the speakers. 

Do you get audio when pairing to Bluetooth, AM, FM, etc? 

FYI, that small hole under the large control knob can be your friend. Use a paperclip and push it into the hole when the Jensen is on. You'll hear a "pop" but it can be helpful it "rebooting" the unit. 

So perhaps an odd question.  Given the low cost of TVs now, has anyone simply switched out for a new smart tv?  Seems like a great solution (using a hotspot fir WiFi).   

I just added a Fire Stick to the 24” Jensen from my former 400 (new owners didn’t want it). It’s working fine in the guest bedroom. So, you don’t have to replace the TV, just add a smart stick, have WiFi available and it works well. 

The 2021 400 has audio output via white and red RCA cables only. The new Jensen cube did away with ARC (audio return channel) on the HDMI port so that cable only carries video output to the TV. For sound from TV to speakers, set the cube to Aux In and you should get sound from TV through the Cube and speakers. If you're missing the RCA cables on your TV, contact nucamp support. 

@airboss - I contacted Jensen and was told that they tried to pack as much tech into the Cube's smaller form factor as they could.  I think the ARC delete was definitely a backwards move on their part and there's really no reason the Cube could not have had that capability. I'll have a better take on the Cube overall when we receive our Tab in March. I haven't ruled out replacing the cube with a unit that has ARC and maybe even a built-in DVD player so I don't have to bring a separate DVD player along. It seems like there should be enough space above the wardrobe to cut a larger hole to fit a bigger, more capable media system.
