Does anyone know what the little black knob between the white plates is?

Yes, the switch plate is missing in this picture, but it is the media controller for the TV in the galley. I've seen it in other photos and it is silver with black buttons.

Can't really tell from here, but it looks like a fuse holder for the 12 volt receptacle that is next to it. That is my guess.

I second the fuse holder guess. I would assume it's for the 12 volt outlet to the left.

It's not a fuse holder. It's a controller for the Jenson system. Most dealers install it before they sell it.

I agree that the photos from Haydocy clearly shows its a controller for the Jensen, but base on the photo from Leeh22, its not the same object.

Leeh22, if you can provide a close up, we might be able to identify whether it's a fuse holder or switch.

Take. The fuse out and see what doesn't work-then there will be no shadow of a doubt what it's for...
It may be a fuse for the water pump?

It's the IR remote receiver for the clamshell TV which send the remote control input to the Jensen system. Or it could be the HAL9000 mod. Have you tried talking to it in a calm, reasonable voice asking it to sing "Daisy." Worth a shot.
