CS-S BD questions!

Hi, all! We are new to the forum. We are on the verge of buying the 2021 Tab CS-S BD and would really appreciate some input from current clam shell owners about the following: (1) how does nuCamp waterproof the door for the hatchback kitchen? and (2) is the hatchback door constructed out of aluminum ribs and skin? I found a picture of the framing of the CS-S and S side by side (see attached pic), but have not seen any picture of the hatch framing. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Good question. My factory tours have never seen a line of clamshells being produced. The hatch outer skin is a solid piece of thin aluminum like the rest of the roof. I can only assume there are aluminum cross pieces to provide structure to the hatch like the rest of the roof. Here is how they prevent water intrusion at the hinge - a heavy nylon strapping material.

The doors come pre made from a company called "Challenger Doors"...Frank and I met them a few years ago at uCamp. They also made the doors for the T@gs.

@ontheroad - does Challenger Doors make the galley hatches, too?

Hi, all: I emailed help@nucamprv.com and got this helpful answer from Michael, a dealer support manager, which I though I'd share with the group: "Yes, the hatch door is a seamless sheet of aluminum and framing like the rest of the roof."
