The Importance of Departure Angles

Went camping this weekend and had to drive on a fairly muddy dirt road. At one point we hit a pretty steep incline and after we had made our way to the top of the hill it dawned on me how important the 400's departure angle is. If we were in something like the LG Max I'm pretty sure we would've damaged the very rear bottom of the trailer. Just another form-follows-function thing that's great about the T@Bs.

Swales are the worst. Difficult to judge even when taking the angle approach. Have a nicely bent left front stabilizer due to inability to cut an angle passing through one.

Yes... someone else came up with abbreviation "BDL" for Boondock Lite.

Had to negotiate an unforeseen sharp left as back wheels of pickup were climbing out of swale. Trailer nose must have bottomed out on left side. In Minnesota speak "it could have been worse"!
