Has anyone replaced their St235/75R15 Outback/Boondock tires with St205/75R15?

    No, but it seems like a good idea because it would be easier to change the tire in the event of a flat. I plan on abandoning my knobby 235’s as soon as they are anywhere near wearing out.

    ST tires have a history of blowouts.  We replaced four Good Year Marathons on our Airstream after many many reports of sudden blowouts and instant trailer damage, just as a safety measure.  So many complaints Airstream finally made Michelin LTX tires standard equipment.

    @NorthIsUp ; Interesting tire (except for price)

    -+- Tire has 100% same load/speed rating as the OEM on my trailer.
    -+- Tire is also 'XL' construction like the OEM.
    'XL' contruction does have additional material added to the shoulder of the tire for extra strength . . . Tires that are engineered with reinforced sidewalls are considered to be XL or RF tires (with RF tires having even more reinforcements than XL tires.)

    WAG would say 'ST' are nearer the 'RF' end of the range.  'ST' also have less rolling resistance compared to traction [XL] tires.  I can see how shifting to the road tread instead of the OEM mud/snow tread might help a bit on towing MPG.

    I owned a 320, changed to Goodyear, upgraded to a 400, went to Goodyear immediately, better tire, smoother rolling for better gas mileage performance and peace of mind :)

    I changed out to the ST 225s, as they are closer to the size that was installed by the factory. This is for my 2022 T@B 400 BD.

    Don't Forget  all most " ST " construction tires are speed rated at 65 MPH
    So when driving in states like Wyoming with 80-MPH speed limits {and no clear trailer/truck speed limit} and if you are a Peddle-to-the-Metal driver Be Careful.
    Generally I tow in the 60-65 MPH range even on 80 MPH interstates but have been known to hit 80+ when passing or due to other traffic events (TaB has always 'tracked' 100% okay). My OEM tires have a 100+MPH rating.

    The Goodyear Endurance ST205/75-14 are D rated (vs the C rated tires that came on the Tab with 65mph max) and have 87 mph rating.

    Not yet.  But I definitely wouldn’t go down to 205’s.  I’d try to find the largest/closest to original size, 235’s.

    What would be the problem with the narrower 205’s? Load capacity?

    Just my view.  I paid extra to get the BD package.  Mostly for the extra ground clearance. This comes from the “pitched” axle and the larger tires.  I would not go smaller on tires unless there was no option.

    @Binghi ;  As @GatorEgg noted the '205' tire will reduce ground clearance
                    by nearly 1-inch compared a '235'.

    I agree and won't put a smaller tire on my 400 BD.  I have many miles left on my original tires but when they need replacing I'll either replace with the original ones or put a good E rated LT tire on the trailer.

    Just a comment on the Goodyear Endurance tires on a  T@B 400.  Last summer a local 400  (2018 not a Boondock model) went all the way from Vancouver Island up the interior of B.C. to Dawson City and then the gravel up the Dempster Highway to cross the Arctic Circle.  And repeat south to home again; all without a single blowout or hiccup.  While the tires were fine and still looked like new, the frame needed some paint touch-ups!  Definitely the tire I'm changing too before our next long trip.
