Combining gray and black water dump valve to one central discharge

I know this project has been covered before, but I decided to tackle it today on ourT@B. I am very pleased with the out come. Total cost about $30 and a couple hours time. Not counting trips to Home Depot and the RV supply. Pictures to follow.

    Hmmmm - Thatlooks more complicated than I thought it would be. For some reason I was expecting a flexible Y-splitter extension to a std. Dump hose.
    One thing to be careful of with all that hanging down below the frame is wiping it out on a steep gas station entrance or similar. I did my gray water valve in on an unexpected drainage slop in the road in Mecca, CA. Came up unexpectedly and couldn't stop fast enough.

    It hangs down no lower than the original gray water valve, but it is back towards the rear several inches which improves clearance. I always try and stay alert when entering and exiting any driveways. If at all possible I take them at an angle. Although after 50 years of towing all kinds of trailers you can not be to careful. Stuff happens.

    Wanted to thank Dalehelman I finally tackled this project.
    My set up is a little different with grey water. I have it turned sideways because of my alluminum box be in the position that it in. We'll worth the little effort to have one hose connection instead of two when needing to visit dump station.

    Looks good. Question do you have to remove your bikes to access your storage box.

    Yes have to take them off to access anything inside.I can lift enough to grap my stabilizers crank but that's about it. I will turn propane tank on before loading bikes and starting are journey.

    Could a person with a box like yours put a barrel bolt hinge across one end and a couple gas struts to help with the heavy lifting? That way you could have access by lifting to the side and not have to remove the bikes. Just a thought. Trying to think out side the box. "Pun" intended

    Hmmm now that's an Idea for winter for me to think about. I truly don't have much need to access anything inside box when bikes are in place. Once I arrive at my location I remove them and lock them with chain to either side of trailer to these welded brackets.

    Dale, the one question I have about your mod is...

    In the case that you might need to replace one of the gate valves, have you permanently glued your extensions onto those two valves, or can the valves still be removed without cutting?

    A couple of years ago I had some water in the blade section of the valve freeze, and crack it. I was relieved that it was an easy job to unbolt it and put a new valve on there.

    Chan notice we used flexible hose as a 90 coming from grey water also. Whenyou remove the 4 bolts ther is enough play with that piece of rubber  elbow to allow you. By the way I carry an extra valve for each along with the rubber seals just for instances as you described.

    And the spares idea. I'm always keeping spares around, could open a hardware store. That's a problem. B-)

    I love mine. It speeds up the time at the dump station. Really enjoyed it at a full hookup sight. Thanks, dale.
