Black Hills Tunnels
I asked a question on the other forum when the T@B forum was down about the height of the tunnels in the Black Hills and whether there would be a problem pulling the T@B through. Since time is getting closer for me actually give it a try, I did some research and found the following information on the South Dakota State Parks web site. Thought I'd post it here in case anyone else was interested.
Iron Mountain Road:
Tunnel #1: 14' 0" W by 12' 9" H
Tunnel #2: 13' 2" W by 12' 2" H
Tunnel #3: 13' 4" W by 12' 4" H
Needles Highway:
Tunnel #4: 10' 6" W by 10' 7" H
Tunnel #5: 8' 4" W by 12' 0" H
Tunnel #6: 9' 0" W by 12' 3" H
The T@B is approximately 6' 6" W by 7' 6" H (not counting vent covers, antenna, etc.), so looks like it should go "wherever it's towed to."
Here is a link to the map that shows this information, as well as location of points of interest in the park.

Many of the tunnels you pass through you are able to look back and frame a picture of Mt Rushmore through them. One of my favorite areas to visit - The Black Hills region.Black Hills SecretsMike - Elmira, Mi / 2019 T@B 400 / 2021 Chevy Silverado LTZ

Agree. One of my favorites as well. I have been twice, but never spent much time there. Just sort of drove around for a day or so. This time I plan to spend some camp time in the area. As a matter of fact, I may spend all my time in the area and save Yellowstone (which I had planned to visit) for another time. I want to make a trip to Bear Butte north of Sturgis, and I may go up to Devil's Tower as well. After that, we'll see. And, this will not be my last trip to the Black Hills. Some day (maybe next year), I plan to attend the annual buffalo roundup. So much to see; so little time. :((

I highly recommend Devils Tower, Larry. I stayed at the KOA in one of their Kabins (pre-LG days) and had a clear view of the tower. The tower just calls to you. It 's both magical and majestic. I'll stop there myself this summer.Verna, Columbus, IN

I've been to the tower too and you will see prayer sacks attached to the nearby trees and bushes and placed by the Native Americans. It is a very spiritual place and worth the trip out there.I also enjoy the Badlands region and have camped in both campgrounds in the park. Sage Creek campground is a primitive area down in sage Creek Canyon, but there are buffalo down there and they often come in through the camp site which is pretty cool. There are pit toilets and no water at that site but the upper Cedar Pas campground DOES have water that can be drawn and I they have electric hook-ups and dump facilities too. This is worth the effort and fun to spend some time in a dry, desert type environment that has historical significance and was home to the Native Americans who lived out on the plains and in the Black Hills region.

At a ranger's suggestion, I re-routed to avoid that narrowest tunnel when I had the 6x10 SS. The SS was 90" wide with the fenders, which was too close for comfort for me. I love that area, too. Next time I'll be able to tow through the narrow tunnels with the T@DA
