    Well...there is the problem.  There are other threads about frayed brake wiring in the Tabs, but it is difficult to tell if yours is the same issue or not.  Look this thread over and I'm sure there will be other comments on where to go from here.

    Glad you found it.  Those are wires for the electric brakes and some have found them not supported and anchored adequately and they rub on the wheel and fail, as yours did.  Having them short together could explain your symptoms.  If you're not comfortable reconnecting them to the brakes with good heat shrink crimp connectors, taking it to a tech is the right approach.  Have them check the wire support on the other side.

    THAT will do it and explains why the closed (shorted) breakaway is blowing fuses and intermittenly. The wires normally go to your electric brakes which normally have some resistance (will limit the current and the fuse wont blow). In this case they short out and the current is only limited by the wire resistance.

    Yeah, this is something you want your dealer to handle.

    Thanks for your patience with us going through this step by step. I know it is difficult to report issues in a consistent way so folks not right there on the ground with you can follow. In the future if you keep the issue to a single subject/thread it will make it a bit easier to follow.
