Thetford Cassette Lip Seal Replacement Question

2021 TAB BD.  Thetford C402C cassette toilet.  Estimated 20 - 25 days of use since TAB purchased new in 2021.  Thetford Toilet Seal treatment used according to directions when stored.  Cassette was stored inside during winter. Last trip after the first night we noticed water under the TAB by the toilet (the cassette area storage compartment was full, Bleah). Cassette was sitting properly in the compartment.  Pulled out cassette and noticed cassette Lip Seal was peeling on outer surface(?).  Once peeled off this top layer, seal looked in good shape and seemed to work fine next night.  Not sure what the peeling was all about but wondering if the material is breaking down.  How often are people finding this Lip Seal needs replacement?

    I haven't seen any comments on this. I was wondering if Thetford has a plastic protection strip that either NuCamp or the dealer did not remove? Our 2021 320 di not have a plastic strip it looks and acts like only a rubber like material.

    They use a protective coating on seal for preserving it, however my Tab 320 is 21 model as well and my seal some white residue. If you search “Cassette” on this forum you will come up with a lot of information. Here is a link to one the Cassette threat:
