2015 T@B 320 & 2020 Infiniti QX60

Quandry: Got a great deal on an Infiniti QX60 with factory tow package.  We pulled the T@B 30 miles to our favorite, but no longer local, trailer supply- no problem.  Testing everything out for our first trip - lights don't come on(!). Hooked it up to our old vehicle - lights work perfect. I madly clean all pins, connectors check fuses, grounds, etc. etc. On a last whim, I plug in my Curt electronic brake controller and everything lights up - great, but why??

All lights not working is typically a ground problem. You might try the following: With the brake controller removed, tow vehicle lights on and trailer lights not working create a temporary ground connection between the trailer and the tow vehicle (e.g. a wire, jumper cable between two good ground spots). If the lights come on the ground is your problem.
Not knowing the internal circuitry of the brake controller I can only speculate that it creates something resembling a ground connection.

Thanks for your input, Grumpy. Trailer connection tester checked out - all apparently good. Mystery not solved, but lights work!. I will investigate more when we are again in home base.
