Allpro cover "sock liner"?

We've tried a couple of different ways to prevent the Allpro cover of our 400 BD from scratching our acrylic windows. The latest brain storm is finding a liner, just as hikers might use a silk sock liner inside their wool hiking socks. A possible candidate is this Vinpatio cover. Worth a try?

    Hi,

I use an old cut up soft flannel bed sheet over all the windows .  I use painters tape at the top,  to keep it in place.  I even put one over the solar panel to keep any possible chafing at the corners of the protective film.

I know many folks say covers have not caused problems which is probably true , but it’s easy enough to do as an extra precaution.

I've tried to tape film at the top of the stargazer window - a precarious adventure I'd rather not try again. Where do you "tape at the top"? Across the top of the window or on the walls?

    Hi
I tape it directly from the flannel to the solid body of the TAB, not touching any of the window or solar panel. The flannel will cover over the top of the window.  I have done it for 4 years and the painters tape always removes cleanly w/o leaving any marks.  It stays on usually for about 4 months or so depending how late into the fall or early spring we head out.

So, now we need a cover for the cover?  I've used a cover for 7 years, and not one issue with the windows.

Just like a sway bar…some people feel a bit better with it.  It causes no harm to use either. As you say..we all camp/travel differently.   Like any extra insurance …you don’t need it …til you do.  Happy travels.

I use an old fitted sheet for a twin mattress to cover the stargazer window. The elastic fits nicely around the window and is secured when you close the window on the sheet.

My wife made some flannel covers for the windows to keep them from being scratched.  We previously used the "saran wrap" plastic film but it was a major PITA to use.   The flannel covers have a small piece of elastic diagonally in each corner that hooks behind the window (you do not need to open the windows to do this).

That’s a great idea @HedCount!  Dealing with the Saran Wrap is a pain.

We do the same as @HedCount, but use our decorative window awnings that we use while camping.  We just put the awnings over the windows before covering the entire trailer with our Classic Accessories Perma Pro cover.

Great idea!  After only 3 years I am tired of the frustration of trying to use Saran Wrap 😂
